Mary Louise Cuellar was called home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2025.

She is survived by her sister Becky Gonzales, brother Carlos Cuellar, and sister Anna Peralez; son Edward Trujillo, grandchildren Elizabeth Figueroa, Celia Figueroa, Edward Trujillo, Alicia Trujillo Wolfington, and Gabriel Trujillo Wolfington.

Mary Louise Cuellar was born on December 27, 1938 and has lived in Santa Barbara her entire life. Many may remember her when she attended Franklin Elementary School; SBJHS and graduated from SBHS.

Louise had worked at various places, two of them were with her sister Becky at The Colonial Motel along the beach and Santa Barbara Country Club. She eventually moved over to work with the Santa Barbara School District for over 40 years. She loved working with the children, and volunteering for many school functions. No matter what the event was, she was always there to help, and always in line to serve the people.

Mary Louise, known as “Tewah” or “WeeJo” to many, was a pillar in the family. She looked forward to planning family reunions, and spending time with as much family as she could. There are many memorable memories which she has left us with such as Camping Trips, or the bus trips to Vegas and Dodger Games.

Tewah touched the lives of so many people. She had a huge heart and always put others before herself. She will be missed greatly, but we know she’s now looking down on us from Heaven and will continue to guide us from above as we navigate through the rest of our time here.

A service will be held at Santa Barbara Cemetery Chapel at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, followed by the graveside committal service.

Until We Meet Again

We think about you always,
We talk about you still,
You’ve never been forgotten,
And you never will,
We hold you close within our heart,
And there you will remain,
Walk and guide us through our lives,
Until we meet again.
