It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Larry Derrick, who died peacefully on January 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Frank was born on October 13, 1941, in Santa Barbara, California.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife Virgilina; his three sons, Kenneth, Mark, and Kevin; and his daughter, Monica, as well as his four grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Becket, Avalon, and Roark. He also adopted two children during a previous marriage, Jeanette and Jim. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose; his father, Lester; and his sister, Doris.

Frank grew up in Santa Barbara and attended La Cumbre Junior High and Santa Barbara High School. After high school, he went to work with his father in the roofing industry, where he developed a strong work ethic rooted in discipline, responsibility and pride in honest labor.

As a young man, Frank founded Santa Barbara Roofing, building a reputation for reliability and quality workmanship. In the 1990s, he started Derrick’s Home Center and during this period, he found his faith and became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. In later years, he returned to roofing and also founded Above All Storage.

Frank was known as a hardworking and generous man who quietly helped others without seeking recognition. Loyalty mattered deeply to him, and he maintained lifelong friendships with Dave, Pancho, and Ed.

Frank was deeply involved in the Santa Barbara (Turnpike) congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where he found spiritual community and purpose. His faith sustained him through his later years and gave him peace in his final days.

Frank Derrick will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a loyal friend, and a man whose faith became a guiding force in his life. His legacy of integrity, generosity, perseverance, and trust in Jehovah lives on through his family and all those whose lives he touched.

Services will be held at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 715 North Turnpike Road, on February 1, 2026, at 2:00. A reception will follow at the Goleta Community Center, 5679 Hollister Ave.
