Sally Krause
Sally was born in Oshkosh, WI to Robert and Alva Radhke. She enjoyed growing up near a lake, attended local schools, then nursing school and worked in a hospital.
Sally married Byron Krause in 1957, and she was dedicated to the care of her family of 3 children, Craig, Carla and Dale. Sally’s young family lived in Milwaukee for several years and then they moved to Goleta where they lived 20 years and attended Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Sally enjoyed watching basketball on TV; she cheered enthusiastically and exuberantly! She was in a bowling league, and frequently went on outings to attend plays and events with friends. Sometimes it was just the ladies and other times it was couples. She enjoyed 3 cats and a dog, sewed a lot and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.
After the children were raised, Sally worked at an exercise salon and later worked for many years at the Santa Barbara County Parks Reservation Office.
Sally retired to Solvang, where she lost Byron to cancer. She walked frequently, enjoyed more cats, and continued her friendships by going out to lunch and shopping.
Sally passed away on April 19, 2026. She is survived by her 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Sally loved her family
She could fix what hurts
She had the nurturing instincts
She had the magic words (“please” and “thank you”).
There will be a celebration of life at 11am on May 16, 2026 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 770 Vala Drive in Santa Barbara. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the church.
