Shannon Marie
Shannon loved deeply and lived with a wide open heart. She found joy in the ocean, in nature, in flowers, and in animals. She had a gift for connection, she saw people, cared for them, and made them feel loved. Her kindness was natural and unwavering, and it touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Shannon faced many challenges throughout her life and ultimately lost her battle with addiction, shaped by years of trauma, depression, and PTSD. She fought courageously to find her way out again and again, and while she ultimately succumbed, her life was defined by so much more than her struggles.
Growing up, Shannon was full of energy and creativity. She loved basketball, surfing, and music, and played several instruments, including the flute, drums, trombone, and guitar. She later followed her passion for food and graduated from the SBCC,S culinary program, becoming a chef. Her talent took her everywhere as a private chef, where she shared not only her skill but her warmth and generosity. There wasn’t a person Shannon couldn’t connect with, to her, every stranger was simply a friend she hadn’t met yet.
Though Shannon’s journey included dark and difficult chapters, she never stopped fighting to find her way back to the light. She was resilient, loving, and a deeply empathetic human. She is survived by her sisters, Cassidy and Phoenix, and her brother, Shiloh, who carry forward her memory and the love she gave so freely.
Shannon’s free spirit, her laughter, and her boundless love will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her.
There will be a celebration of Shannon’s life at Tajiguas Beach on Sunday May 17 at 6 Pm.
