Steve was a proud 85-year-old Navy veteran, master jeweler, passionate photographer, music lover, artist, father, grandfather, and husband. He passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 16th, surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born in Los Angeles on March 10, 1941, and grew up in Beverly Hills. At age 17 he joined the US Navy, working in the engine rooms of boats and submarines all over the Asian Pacific. He returned home from duty just as the Vietnam War began and a cultural revolution swept throughout the US. After traveling all over the US and Europe he would discover his true passion in life, making jewelry.

Steve’s life was defined by his passion for breaking the mold and living life authentically. He cherished the journey of his experiences and his longtime friendships and family. We will forever miss his bright smile and laughter, his sinister bad jokes, and of course his countless stories. Let us all appreciate his passion for living life to the fullest, and especially his endless pursuit of his favorite “F” word, “Fun”.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marina Alzugaray; his son Sharin; grandson Tavai; and closest siblings Ron & Donna.

Celebration of Life on May 30th, from 1-4 at Skofield Park.
