Robert M. (“Bob”) Fulmer, 86, passed away June 4th, 2026. He was born October 6, 1939, in Florence, Alabama to Robert and Reba Fulmer. After he graduated from Mars Hill, and Lipscomb University, he went on to earn graduate degrees from University of Florida (MBA) and UCLA (PhD).

He is the author of over 150 published articles and almost forty business books, monographs, and editions. As an academic, he held endowed chairs at Trinity, William and Mary, and Pepperdine, and taught Strategy and Leadership at Columbia and Emory Universities. He was a visiting scholar at MIT, as well as academic director for Duke Corporate Education. In the private sector, he conducted executive seminars in twenty-five countries on five continents.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother William Fulmer, stepson, Shaun Wallace, and Arlene Fulmer, mother of his two sons. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patsy, sons, Jeff (Sonja) and Burt (Emily), stepson, Brad Wallace (Marifer), brother, Joseph, grandchildren Emmett and Ruby Fulmer, step grandchildren Sarah Holman and Emm Wallace, and three great step grandchildren.

Bob was an esteemed scholar, beloved professor, avid reader and world traveler. In 2000, he and Patsy fell in love with Santa Barbara and made it their home. A kind and gracious man, Bob will be greatly missed. A private service will be held at a later date.
