Ruben J Felix

In Loving Memory of 

Ruben J. Felix passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025 after his brave battle with cancer, in Santa Monica, California, at the age of 64. A resident of Santa Maria, California, Ruben was born on November 15, 1961, in Tijuana, Mexico, to Francisco and Norbertha J. Felix. He was one of seven siblings and was deeply cherished by his family.

Ruben was raised in Santa Barbara, California, where he attended Franklin Elementary School, Santa Barbara Junior High School, and Santa Barbara Senior High School. He graduated with the Class of 1980 from Dos Pueblos High School.

In 1998, Ruben began his career with the United States Postal Service as a Mail Processing Clerk at the Santa Barbara Processing and Distribution Center. He served with dedication and pride for more than 27 years, remaining in his position until December 2025.

Ruben is survived by his siblings, Julia, Martha, Stella, Alex, Robert, Sonia, and Alicia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews who will lovingly remember his kindness, his unique interests, and the special place he held in their lives.

Ruben found joy in antiquing and was an avid collector of Felix the Cat memorabilia. He delighted in searching for treasures in antique shops from Ventura to Cambria and looked forward to his weekly trips to the San Luis Obispo Farmers Market. These simple pleasures brought him happiness and reflected his appreciation for nostalgia, community, and life’s little discoveries.

Ruben’s gentle spirit, devotion to family, and appreciation for the things he loved will be remembered by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life Honoring Ruben will be held at Atkinson Park, 1000 Railroad Ave, Santa Maria, CA 93458 on Saturday June 27 2026 from 11am – 2pm
