Frank Guevarra

Frank Guevarra passed away at home in Tuscola, TX on July 8, 2026 at the age of 88.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only me, but also all who have longed for His appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Francis Teofelo Guevarra was born on January 8, 1938 to Albert and Eva Guevarra of Santa Barbara, the sixth of seven children. He graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1957 and married his childhood sweetheart, Norma Louise Whitmore that year. After serving in the CA National Guard, Frank began a career at the United States Postal Service that would last 34 years. Frank and Norma had three children, Edward, Kathleen, and Mark. Music and church were a big part of the young family’s life with Frank on guitar and Norma playing the fiddle. Frank was an avid guitar player and Hank Williams fan. Despite illness, Frank made a final trip to Santa Barbara on Father’s Day for a reunion with Norma, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John, Robert, and Albert, sisters Rosie and Cecelia, granddaughter Christa, and his second wife, Gloria.

He is survived by first wife, Norma, and his third wife, Cheri, his children Eddie, Kathleen Johnson (Greg), and Mark (Melanie), grandchildren Daniel (Janey), Mark Jr., Rachel, Brad (Danica), Marty, and Christopher, great grandchildren Evan, Kaeden, and Olive, sister Barbara Cortez, niece Theresa Williford both of Phoenix, AZ, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Internment took place on July 14, 2026 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, officiated by Pastor David Cason.
