Jerry Belch

Jerry Belch passed away on June 3rd 2026, surrounded by his family at home.

Mr. Belch taught at Dos Pueblos from 1970-2005. He not only taught, but designed all the Computer Business Application classes. He started with just two Apple IIe computers, and built that into an amazing program. He also published books, to teach other teachers to do the same at their schools.

He knew that not all kids were on the college track, and he wanted to teach them skills, so they were qualified for higher paying careers. He was proud to be a Charger, and bled blue and gold. He loved being a teacher, and it showed. He was always there for his students, to help them succeed. Many students even entrusted him, when their lives were falling apart and they had nobody to turn to. He never forgot a students name, even ones he taught in the 70’s.

I know he meant so much to so many but the most blessed, was his family. He was married for almost 59 years to the love of his life Janet and his two daughters Julie and Shelley. He was the most amazing Grandfather to his 5 grandchildren: Lynsi, Courtney, Ryan, Christian and Kyle and his great grandson Liam.

The services for Jerry Belch will be on Sept. 2nd at 10:00am at El Montecito Presbyterian Church . The church is located at 1455 East Valley Road in Montecito. Everyone is welcome, to come celebrate his amazing life.

His Celebration of life is on Sept 2nd, which would have been Jerry & Janet’s 59th wedding Anniversary. The service will be held in the same sanctuary, where their love story began over six decades ago.
Mr. B…..You’ll be remembered and loved forever by anyone that was blessed enough to know you.
