Scott Andrew Miners

Scott Andrew Miners, 55, passed peacefully on August 7, 2026 at Serenity House after a 5 year battle with cancer.

Scott approached his cancer journey with the same optimism he brought to life: “Let’s make every day the best day.”

Born in San Jose, California, Scott attended West Valley College and graduated from Cal Poly State University in 1997 with a degree in Construction Management. He moved to Santa Barbara after graduation and spent more than 27 years working as a project manager. He was so proud of all the projects he was part of throughout Santa Barbara County. Scott loved people and he loved to network. He was a former member of the Carpinteria Rotary Club and the Santa Barbara Contractors Association.

Scott’s lifelong passion was surfing and the ocean. He began surfing while in high school driving over to Santa Cruz as much as he could and continued throughout his life, traveling to Tahiti, Hawaii, Fiji, El Salvador, and Mexico in search of waves. He also surfed frequently locally, his favorite spot was Rincon.

He connected with many people over his love of surfing, especially his kids and his lifelong friends. Scott was adventurous, positive, fun-loving, and deeply loved. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jennifer; his children, Kira and Caleb; sister Melany Miners and many family members and friends. He’s predeceased by his parents Richard (Dick) Miners and Janice (Jan) Forsen Miners.

Scott will be remembered for his love of life, love of his family and friends, and of the ocean. His ashes will be interred at the Santa Barbara Cemetery in a spot he chose with an ocean view.
