Scott was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Woodland Hills. He moved with his family to Santa Barbara when he was 14 years old and graduated from San Marcus High School.

After college, at age 25, Scott became the first CEO of the Rehabilitation Institute of Santa Barbara (RISB) currently known as the Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital.

In 1977, Scott’s bachelor life quickly changed when he met Diane who had recently moved to Santa Barbara from New Jersey. They fell in love and in 1980 were married.

Scott decided to change his career path when he turned 40. He received his MBA and Commercial Broker/Real Estate License. He began to work at Pacifica Commercial Realty.

In 2002, Scott founded and became President of Radius Commercial Real Estate in which he was respected and successful. Upon reflection of Scott passing, one of his previous mentors said “I have very fond memories of my time working for him and the care he took to mentor me and other colleagues. He was patient and enduring of my many questions and curiosities. He was gracious to allow me broad leeway to try things and make mistakes – even big mistakes. And forgiving and protective when I went too far. I loved listening to him negotiate on the phone and his strength of character.”

Scott was a member of the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara from1986 – 2009 and a member of the local chapter of Westerners International. He served as a member of the Downtown Parking Committee and volunteered on the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast.

Scott and Diane enjoyed golf and often took road trips to State and National Parks throughout the Southwest. They particularly marveled at the beauty of the Anza-Borrego Desert and the geology of Death Valley, Arches and Canyonlands. Between these road trips, they frequently had extended weekends at Palm Desert.

At 65, Scott retired. The trips to the desert sparked another interest and he focused on a new adventure. He established a Cactus and Succulent Nursery in Carpinteria. He donated many of these specimens and today they can be seen in the landscapes of the Old Mission and UCSB.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diane Glenn. And his sisters-in-law, Kathy and Lynn Glenn, including his nieces and nephews, Karen, Eric, Wesley, Carrie and Kristen Glenn. He was predeceased by his parents Marianne and Scott Leroy Glenn, his brothers, Rob, Bruce and Craig.

On August 22, 2026, Scott passed away unexpectedly due to complications from an embolism. As he wished, no memorial will be held. Cremation arrangements were handled by the Neptune Society. In memory of Scott, please consider donating to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
