Laurence Arquier Pinnolis
Sadly, our beloved, Laurence Arquier Pinnolis, of Santa Barbara, passed away peacefully with her sons by her side on October 17, 2026, following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Laurence was born in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 24, 1940, to Roger and Marie Arquier, and was the younger sister of Jean-François. She spent her formative years in Geneva and studied as an anesthesiologist. Laurence married Alain Zibach in Geneva in 1960, and they moved to the United States that same year. They had two children, Christian and Raymond, whom Laurence raised in Hollywood, California.
The family enjoyed California for all its natural beauty and were habitual campers. Laurence was a great cook who also worked as a fashion model and salesperson for boutiques in Beverly Hills. Laurence later met Barry Pinnolis, and they were married in 1990 in Montecito, California and moved to Santa Barbara in 1991. Laurence’s love for the great outdoors continued throughout her life and included hiking, mountain climbing, skiing, cross-country skiing and biking.
Laurence was predeceased by her husband, Barry; her parents, Roger and Marie; and her brother, Jean-François. She is survived by her sons, Christian and Raymond Zibach; her grandchildren, Christopher and Nicole; her great-grandchildren, Jane, Margot, Elle, and Jesse; her sister-in-law, Marie-Claire Arquier; and her stepdaughter, Anna Pinnolis. Laurence also leaves behind a brokenhearted, supportive group of countless friends in Santa Barbara and abroad.
Laurence was a strong woman gifted with beauty and an innate sense of style. Her quiet, calm and loving demeanor will be missed greatly by us all.
