Jesus Placencia
In Loving Memory
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, grandfather, and brother, who passed away peacefully on October 29, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Born on January 13, 1947, in Mexico, he was one of twelve siblings. He later made the journey to the United States, where he built a life filled with hard work, love, and dedication to his family. He spent most of his life in Santa Barbara, a community he called home, while always holding a special place in his heart for his hometown of San Juan de Monte, Mexico.
He was a devoted husband to his wife, Esther Placencia, and a proud father to his three children, Monica, Abraham, and Daniel Placencia. His greatest joy was his family, especially his two grandchildren, Priscilla and Diego Placencia, whom he loved dearly. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother whose presence, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of many.
Throughout his life, he worked as a cook for many years, sharing his passion for food with everyone around him. Alongside his wife, he also built and operated a jewelry business for more than 30 years, a testament to their hard work, partnership, and dedication. He was a man who believed in helping others and never hesitated to lend a hand to those in need.
Cooking was more than just a passion; it was one of the ways he showed his love. Anyone who walked through his front door was welcomed with an abundance of food, warmth, and hospitality. His home was a place where family and friends gathered, where no one ever left hungry, and where memories were made around the table. That generosity and love will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have shared a meal with him.
He enjoyed watching soccer, spending time with his family, and returning to his beloved hometown of San Juan de Monte, Mexico. March was an especially meaningful time for him, as he looked forward to the town’s annual fiestas. Those trips allowed him to reconnect with his roots, celebrate his culture, and enjoy the traditions and people he held so close to his heart.
Above all, he will be remembered for his love of family, his generous spirit, his strong work ethic, and the countless lives he touched throughout his journey. His legacy lives on through the family he raised, the traditions he shared, the people he helped, and the memories that will be cherished for generations.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing he passed peacefully, surrounded by the people he loved most. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. His love will remain with us, in every family gathering, every shared meal, and every memory we carry in our hearts.
