Independent Jumps the Shark with Endorsements

Reconsidering The Independent endorsements

Arnold? Bob Noel?

I’ve often disagreed with endorsements in the past, most notably
I thought The Indy was wack endorsing in the ’92 Primaries
one William Jefferson Clinton (an opinion long since
abandoned).

In practice, our endorsements are exceedingly prescient, with a
record of influence and accuracy unmatched in Santa Barbara County
(although Cap’n Pat McElroy of City Firefighters mistakenly thinks
otherwise).

According to sources, calls to The Independent
switchboard Thursday evinced a decidedly anti-Arnold sentiment and
blustering disappointment over the freebie’s Election
recommendations.

The source of the Noel disgust was primarily centered around the
Publisher’s office, and some were heard to portray Noel as a
grand-standing, self-promoting, anti-sports dilettante who is long
on wind and posture, but short on cooperation, participation, and
work ethic.

What do our readers think? Let me know. (Hat Tip to
L.H.)
