The Switzerland-based Zurich Financial Services group, in partnership with University of California, Santa Barbara, has made a contribution of $1 million to establish and endow the Distinguished Visitors Program at the Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management. The Zurich Distinguished Visitors Program will allow international experts and leaders in environmental policies, law, business and science to work with Bren students by conducting short courses, offering public lectures and conducting seminars. UCSB Chancellor Henry Yang emphasized the University’s gratitude towards Zurich’s endowment. “UC Santa Barbara is tremendously grateful to Zurich Financial Services for their generous and visionary gift,” Yang said, adding that “the Distinguished Visitors Program will strengthen the leadership position of our faculty and students in helping to solve the pressing environmental problems of our world.”
