Art Adventures Come Alive

Thu Mar 20, 2008 | 06:00am

Camp Lorr Art Adventures will open its Spring Art Camp in conjunction with Arts Alive! on Monday, March 24. Jeannine Richards, cofounder of the popular Camp Lorr, is now opening Camp Lorr Art Adventures. Camp Lorr is remembered as a special place, where thousands of children experienced the nature and nurturing of the great outdoors while learning to swim, sail, cook over campfires, and make things with their own hands. Camp Lorr Art Adventures’ mission is to provide Santa Barbara’s youth with the opportunity to explore and develop an appreciation for the creative arts, the joy of music, dancing, singing, sculpting with clay, painting, weaving, mosaics, and jewelry-making. Camp Lorr Art Adventures offers two Spring Recess Camps and nine Summer Recess Camps, where children ages 5-13 can explore all aspects of the arts. Each session is five days long, Monday-Friday, and is limited to 48 campers. $250. For info, call 845-7571 or 729-8455.
