Thomas Bruice, UCSB professor of chemistry and biochemistry, has been awarded the 2008 Linus Pauling Medal by the Portland and Puget Sound chapters of the American Chemical Society in honor of his work, which bridged the scientific fields of chemistry and biology and explained the biochemical bases for countless natural processes.
