Marine Corporal Aaron Allen, a 24-year-old Buellton resident, died while serving in Iraq on 11/14. He was assigned to the Anbar region and was struck down by an improvised explosive device just south of Falluja, according to a government release. It was the second tour of duty for Allen, a 2002 graduate of Santa Ynez High School, and he was reportedly scheduled to return to the U.S. in five weeks, according to reports. His body was returned to Santa Barbara County on 11/21.
