After a 26-year old woman failed to return home from a hike to La Cumbre Peak via the Cathedral Peak Trail, the Santa Barbara Search and Rescue Team was dispatched by the Sheriff’s office to recover her. The woman’s family called for help on Friday at 11 p.m., and the volunteer rescue crew found her not far from the edge of the trail – stranded on a steep cliff – a short time later. After using ropes to recover her, the team escorted the woman down to the trailhead where her family was waiting. There were no reports of injury.
