Vehicle Crosses Center Divider

A motor vehicle collision just south of Buellton on Highway 101 left one dead and four injured shortly before four o’clock this afternoon. The Santa Barbara County Fire Department reported that a southbound vehicle crossed the center divider, hitting a northbound vehicle, at the Nojoqui Summit.

One of the vehicles, a late model GMC Envoy, ended up on its roof. A 30-year-old female was pronounced dead at the scene, another 30-year-old female was transported via Calstar helicopter, and an infant and two patients with minor injuries were transported in two AMR ambulances. The identities of the injured and fatality have not yet been released.
