Looking to the Future

Despite Previous Cancellation, Wine Futures to Be Held for 20th Year

Thu May 07, 2009 | 12:00am

Wine lovers can taste some very exclusive vino this June 13 at the 20th annual Wine Futures tasting-a widely popular event that was canceled earlier this year when its usual host, The Wine Cask, had to shut its doors in February. But thanks to Bob Wesley, owner of the downtown wine superstore The Winehound, the event was put back on the calendar for Saturday, May 9. When the Jesusita Fire put a stop to that, Winehound regrouped once more, and now the official date is Saturday, June 13. Attendees can once again sample and savor more than 90 S.B. County-crafted wines before they are available for sale to the public. It’s all happening at the S.B. Museum of Natural History (2559 Puesta del Sol) from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Tickets are $65; ages 21+. Call 845-5247 for more info.
