Small Wildfire in the Mountains

Firefighters Seem to Have Two Acre Blaze Under Control

Wed May 20, 2009 | 01:02pm

Just as Santa Barbara County residents began breathing a little easier with Jesusita Fire victims moving into recovery mode, a small fire began on the backside of the Santa Ynez Mountains on Wednesday afternoon. According to chatter on the police scanner, the two-acre blaze located near Paradise Road between Paradise Park and Potrero Lane appeared to be under control by 1 p.m., but, with winds picking up, more engines were coming and law enforcement was going to be setting up traffic control. An air attack had also been called in.
