After overcoming a devastating year of natural disasters, the Santa Barbara community will give back to victims and the heroes who risked their lives to save our home. Samy’s Camera and Tidepool Pictures will host the world premiere of Behind the Lines: Fighting a Wildland Fire, a documentary benefiting Jesusita Fire victims through the United Way’s Jesusita Fire Long Term Recovery Fund.

Filmed in 2007-08 by filmmaker Jennie Reinish, the documentary features an inside look of the men and women who fought the terrorizing wildfires. The event will kick off at Saturday, June 6, 7:30 p.m. at Samy’s Camera (614 Chapala St.), with live music, professional pictures with area firefighters, and a raffle followed by the outdoor film screening at 8:15 p.m. Call 963-7269 for more information.
