Northern S.B. County United Way Seeks Baby Supplies; Free Culture Arts to Host Surfrider/Save Naples Benefit

Thu Sep 24, 2009 | 12:00am

• In order to continue providing its commendable services to our extended community in the midst of a cloudy economic climate, the Northern S.B. County United Way has launched its Neighbor to Neighbor campaign, aimed at helping some of those who may need help more than ever right now: families with young children. The nonprofit is seeking donations of baby formula, diapers, and wipes to help support our northerly neighbors in need. Call 922-0329 for drop-off locations.

• Next Thursday, October 1, Free Culture Arts will host a fundraiser concert and celebration for two important nonprofits: S.B.’s Surfrider Foundation chapter and the Save Naples Campaign. The benefit, to be held at Casa de la Guerra (123 E. De la Guerra St.), will feature ocean-themed art, surf-centered films, and four musical talents: Shennie Smith and Matt Lawrence, Chris Wilson, Grover Anderson, and Justin Ratowsky-all of whom hope to lull you into a giving mood. Admission is free; all proceeds from beer and wine sales will directly benefit the organizations. Doors open at 5 p.m. Call 235-8783.
