March 6 marks the date for the casting call of The Bar Life, a proposed new reality series — primed for MTV next fall — that will feature State Street nightlife workers. Essentially, the production calls for six young and charismatic bartenders, bouncers, promoters, deejays, party photographers, and anyone else who works in downtown S.B. and is willing to showcase their lives with special attention paid to the college-town culture of Santa Barbara. The producer of the show is primarily looking for recent college graduates who have forgone the career paths of their majors in order to pursue exciting lives of working in downtown Santa Barbara.
Mike Winner, the producer of The Bar Life, is a UCSB grad who wants to show the lives of people who refuse to leave the town in which they attended college. Anyone interested in this unique opportunity to showcase their talents and promote Santa Barbara culture should report to Tonic Nightclub on March 6 and, in Winner’s words, “have their exciting working lives documented into stardom.”
