RESTART THE CYCLE

The Fund for Santa Barbara’s 2010 Grant-Making Cycle is currently accepting applications online at fundforsantabarbara.org. The Fund for S.B. provides financial support to a multitude of organizations working for “social, economic, environmental, and political change in Santa Barbara County.” For details about the process, or to learn more about the fund, call 962-9164.

BUST A MOVE

As of August 1, Santa Barbara Dance Arts directors Steven Lovelace and Alana Tillim will be taking over Carpinteria’s 14 K Jules. The Carp studio, which will change its name to Dance Arts Carpinteria on the first, will offer the same classes and faculty, as well as a new option for financial aid for students. POINT AND SHOOT

The California Coastal Commission’s Amateur Photo Competition is now accepting submissions for its 12th annual contest. Entrants are encouraged to submit photos in any of the four categories by August 31: the scenic coast, the way people use the coast, coastal wildlife, or humor.
