At this week’s Plein Air Santa Barbara, artists will have 90 minutes to paint outdoor scenes depicting downtown S.B. during a “quick draw” competition. Beginning at 4 p.m. next Thursday, July 7, the painters will converge at Casa de la Guerra (15 E. De la Guerra St.), then set up their easels nearby so all can watch as they paint their versions of our city’s most scenic hotspots. Completed paintings will be posted on the walls at Casa de la Guerra for judging, public viewing, and sale at a 6 p.m. reception the same day; winning artists get the King/Queen of the Street title, as well as the People’s Choice award. Call 252-7052 for more info.
