Volunteer at Arroyo Hondo Preserve

Help with Habitat Restoration Then Spend an Afternoon Exploring the Preserve’s Creeks, Vistas, and Trails

Help preserve one of S.B. County’s natural landscape gems, and enjoy the scenery while you’re at it. The Land Trust for Santa Barbara is looking for volunteers to donate a few hours of their time at the Arroyo Hondo Preserve’s Habitat Restoration Project next Sunday, September 4, from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Located about four and a half miles north of Refugio State Beach on the Gaviota Coast, the Arroyo Hondo Preserve is a 782-acre canyon with sweeping views of the coastline that serves as home to thousands of plant and animal species. Tools and equipment will be provided for volunteers—many of whom work for the morning, bring a picnic lunch, and then spend the afternoon exploring the preserve’s many winding trails, vistas, and creeks. Call 567-1115 to RSVP for the volunteer day, or for more info.
