Eleven of the 15 protesters arrested for trespassing on Vandenberg Air Force Base during a February nuclear missile test were arraigned in federal court last week. Members of the group, which included activists Daniel Ellsberg and Cindy Sheehan on the night of the anti-war demonstration, each pleaded not guilty to a single charge of misdemeanor trespassing. Their trial is set for October 17. Said former Marine and protester John Amidon after the hearing: “We are not trespassers. We are citizens upholding the law with a noble act of civil resistance.”
