Canine Cancer Walk

C.A.R.E.4Paws Hosts Fundraiser Event

Wed Oct 03, 2012 | 06:00am

Our animal friends share everything with us, from emotional swings to the occasional ice cream cone. Unfortunately, canines fall victim to the same naturally developed cancers as humans. To raise awareness—and funds—for canine cancer and research, C.A.R.E.4Paws and Trusted Pet Partners will co-host a two-mile dog march known as the Two Million Dogs PuppyUp! This festival occurs in more than 40 locations nationwide each November, finding a new home in Santa Barbara for the first time this year. Area pet owners, animal lovers, or avid beachside walkers are encouraged to pledge $25 to walk a dog during this event. Fifty percent of the proceeds will go to C.A.R.E.4Paws and directly aid area pets. The walk takes place Saturday, November 3. Registration is at 10 a.m.; the walk begins at 12 p.m., at Chase Palm Park. For more info and to register, visit care4paws.org.
