“I just want to give a big thank-you to Santa Barbara for all their support since 1947,” said Alan Hazard, who is closing the doors of his Santa Barbara Radiator shop at the end of the month after selling the building at Chapala and Gutierrez streets to a businessperson who plans to convert it to offices. Like his father before him, Hazard did custom work on cars and trucks for decades and says his shop is the last of three radiator shops to survive inside the city limits. “It’s just time for me to retire — I’m going to do whatever I want,” said Hazard. “Anyone that needs work done better get their cars in here soon!”
