Emmy-nominated filmmaker Larry Nimmer has released the latest installment of D’Art Santa Barbara, his playful, chance-driven look at the local art scene.
For the 2026 Santa Barbara Studio Artists Tour, Nimmer threw a dart at the tour map to determine which artists he would visit. The dart selected seven of the tour’s 24 artists. Nimmer then traveled to each studio, interviewing the artists and inviting them to give viewers a brief tour of their work.
The result is an informal look at seven Santa Barbara artists—their work, techniques, influences and creative lives.
Nimmer produces the D’Art series as a community service, introducing viewers to a variety of artists they might otherwise never encounter. Previous installments have featured artists in Carpinteria, Santa Barbara and New Mexico.
