Marcia K. Morgan GO! How to Get Going and Achieve your Goals and Dreams at any Age Wednesday, February 20th at 7:00pm Please join us at Chaucer’s Books as we welcome author and criminologist Marcia K. Morgan as she shares her new book entitled GO! How to Get Going and Achieve your Goals and Dreams– an empowering, emboldening book for women and girls. Women and girls share a common epidemic: dream drain. Their goals and dreams are often put on hold or they quietly slip away. Morgan gives women and girls the ability to recognize how their dreams disappeared and develop new tools to get them back. Readers will be guided to create the life they want by selecting and displaying special objects that represent their goals. Through mindfulness, repetitive visualization and tenacious planning, the goal objects (GO! for short) become an empowering compass to keep a woman/girl on the path towards her goals. The goal objects become a metaphor of her life and a regular reminder of what she wants to achieve. Marcia Morgan has worked in the criminal justice field over 40 years helping to give women a voice. She is a criminologist, author of numerous books and journal articles, and a consultant on crime issues to organizations such as the US Department of Justice and the Pentagon. With an expertise in gender and crime, she spends a lot of time in prisons, examining culture and sexual misconduct issues. She was also selected to represent the United States in Italy at the international NATO conference on Victimization. While in law enforcement years ago, Marcia and a colleague developed the original Anatomical Dolls now used worldwide in forensic interviews with child sexual abuse victims. She and her husband live in Bend, Oregon.
