World-renowned rock violinist and composer Scarlet Rivera is pleased to announce that she will join her long-time friend and colleague, American folk singer-songwriter Eric Andersen, as featured artist on five US West Coast concerts later this month. Returning from a highly successful tour in Italy, Austria and Switzerland with Andersen last fall, Rivera is thrilled to continue on another leg of five California shows in Ojai, Santa Monica, Altadena, Soquel and Sacramento from January 24th through February 1st.

Rivera was first brought into the national spotlight by Bob Dylan who personally recruited her for his Rolling Thunder Revue tour in 1975. It was during the infamous year-long tour that Rivera first met Andersen. Both artists were among the lineup of legendary artists that Dylan pulled onto the tour, that also included Joni Mitchell, Mick Ronson, Roger McGuinn, and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, among several others.

Since then, Rivera has entertained live audiences around the world over the past four decades. Rivera has been a guest performer on select Andersen shows since 2015. This upcoming west coast tour is the second time the two artists have been on the road together. Rivera has also been featured on recordings and tours by many other major label artists, including the Indigo Girls, Tracy Chapman, Eric Andersen, Keb’ Mo’, Peter Maffay, David Johansen and Sylvia Tyson of ‘Ian and Sylvia’, and five-time Grammy winner Cindy Cashdollar.

Rivera is best known as the trailblazing violinist that first introduced the violin in rock, folk and popular music. Her violin is heard throughout Dylan’s multi-platinum album, Desire, that he released in 1976. Since then, Rivera has released 11 solo albums of her own to date as well as 10 more albums she recorded with top British keyboardist and arranger Tommy Eyre.

Rivera plans to release her 12th solo album, All of Me, in February 2020 on Bright Sun Records.

Catch Scarlet Rivera as the featured violinist performing with iconic singer-songwriter Eric Andersen in five special performances in California later this month.
