Old Spanish Days history fun with the launch of our Project Fiesta! exhibitions with tequila, tacos, performances and dancing!

Santa Barbara Historical Museum invites you to discover over a century of Old Spanish Days Fiesta history in our community with our latest Project Fiesta! exhibitions. The celebration will include tacos, cocktails, music, and dancing.

The evening will include lively performances by the 2026 Spirit and Junior Spirit of Fiesta, Mariachi Sin Fronteras, and Elements Band.

Our special exhibitions, Project Fiesta! Arte de los Mantónes, showcase our remarkable collection of Spanish shawls, and Finding Saint Barbara, exploring our city’s patron saint and marking one hundred years of her presence in Fiesta celebrations.

Guests are encouraged to dress in festive Fiesta attire.

Note that if you are a sponsor of Project Fiesta! or attending Una Fiesta de los Adobes, the Museum’s fundraiser on July 31, you already have tickets reserved for this event. For more information contact dacia@sbhistorical.org.

It is impossible to stage a Fiesta here unless the people of the community have the spirit of the Fiesta themselves. The Spirit of the Fiesta is not a tangible thing to be dug out of a chest and exhibited for three days every year. The Fiesta spirit is a latent force which springs to life during the celebration, giving the city a joyous and festive appearance in which the legacy of the past is brought again to light.

– Sam Stanwood, El Presidente, 1927-1947
