Palaikastro is one of the most intensively excavated settlements of Minoan Crete (ca. 2700-1400 BC). In this talk Prof. Carl Knappett, University of Toronto, reports on excavations in a new neighborhood on the edge of town, while also applying techniques of landscape analysis to look at the site’s environmental setting.

Sponsored by the Archaeological Institute of America, the UCSB Department of Classics and Department of History

Due to an overabundance of caution over the coronavirus situation, the Archeological Institute of America and our local chapter officers have decided to CANCEL our lecture
