The Italian pianist Antonio Artese is back in town for a concert presenting his new jazz album entitled TWO WORLDS and released with the Italian independent label ABEAT Records. He will be joined in his WEST COAST TRIO with Jim Connolly on double bass and Matt Perko on drums. Online tickets include a dinner reservation and the doors will open at 6pm.
A refined musician who oscillates between California’s Pacific shores and the rolling hills of Tuscany, pianist and composer Antonio Artese makes his debut for the Italian ABEAT jazz label with an album for piano trio of rare elegance and subtlety. The tunes represent a stratification of musical layers he has accumulated over the years uniting the illusive contrasts between two worlds: that of Italian and American culture, his love for jazz and classical music, and the art of improvisation versus composition. Artese brings inspiration from Bill Evans’ piano trio and Northern European minimalism to his writing for acoustic piano trio, resulting in a series of excellent compositions that vibrate with intense lyricism – where melodic fragments, harmonic contexts, and rhythmic cells are subjected to continuous exploration and revisited from different perspectives by the trio.
Join Antonio and the West Coast Trio in their melodic exploration, and delight in the playfulness and intriguing expressions of jazz contained within Two Worlds.
