The Sahlala Band invites you to attend an evening of adventure and enchantment at the Fishbon Pescadrome. This unique event combines live music and dance with readings of ancient and contemporary stories from the Middle East. The evenings stories will include retellings of the Ancient Mesopotamian Epic of Gilgamesh and the timeless Persian love story Layla and Majnun, as well as more modern stories about wine and love by the celebrated Turkish author Elif afak. The night also features dance performances by local artist Kara and visiting Pittsburgh-based performer Joanna Abel. Note: Early tickets are available online at sahlala.eventbrite.com for $15 (+$1.49 fee), and at door for $20 as space permits but the venue has limited occupancy so we recommend buying tickets early if possible to ensure a space.
