Music & Meditation SB – Jill Felber, Flute

Music & Meditation Santa Barbara presents the final concert of its inaugural season on Tuesday, May 12 at 2:00 PM at Weinman Hall, Music Academy of the West, featuring internationally acclaimed flutist and educator Jill Felber.

Recognized for her innovative artistry and refined musical voice, Felber brings a distinctive approach to the flute, performing on both C and alto instruments. Her work extends the expressive range of the instrument, inviting audiences into a deeply intimate listening experience—one that emphasizes nuance, breath, and sonic detail in close proximity.

The program spans a rich and varied repertoire, with works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Benedetto Marcello, Claude Debussy, and Sergei Rachmaninoff. Moving from the clarity of the Baroque to the evocative colors of Impressionism and the Romantic tradition, the concert highlights the flute’s expressive versatility across centuries.

In keeping with the series’ signature format, the performance will be preceded by a guided meditation, offering audiences a moment of stillness and preparation for a more focused and contemplative listening experience.
