How local business can identify, address, and adapt to climate-related challenges is the focus of a new partnership between the Santa Barbara County Regional Climate Collaborative and the Santa Barbara South Coast Chamber of Commerce. Meeting for the first time on Thursday, July 28 at 10:00 a.m., the Business Advisory Subcommittee (BAS) was formed with the goal of advancing regional and local climate resilience.
BAS discussion topics will include:
· Adapting to climate policies and climate-related programs
· Advocating for and/or developing policies and programs that would encourage more business participation
The Santa Barbara County Regional Climate Collaborative is a growing, multi-sector network of organizations working together to advance climate mitigation and resiliency efforts in Santa Barbara County. The Collaborative advances regional scale climate solutions through coordination and partnership and has successfully helped local jurisdictions obtain $865,000 in funding for collaborative projects.
