RALLY & PRESS CONFERENCE AT 8AM, HEARING AT 9AM
Join the Environmental Defense Center, Get Oil Out!, SBCAN, Santa Barbara Channelkeeper, the Sierra Club, and a broad coalition of partners, at a hearing to urge the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors to deny the transfer of permits from ExxonMobil to Sable. Sable seeks permits to restart a massive oil drilling and processing operation on the Gaviota Coast, which includes the same corroded pipeline that caused the Refugio oil spill in 2015. According to an analysis prepared for Santa Barbara County, restarting the pipeline could lead to a spill once a year, and a major rupture every 4 years.
