The Wildling Museum is pleased to announce the return of its free Summer Family Day event, now in its third year, on Sunday, August 20, 2023, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Visitors are invited to bring the whole family and enjoy free museum admission during event hours, along with a day of art and nature-inspired activities. The event is now offered in both the winter and summer after growing popularity.

The summer lineup of events will include a mermaid meet-and-greet and face painting by Parties and Paint by Kate, along with a native raptor presentation by Santa Barbara Audubon Society’s Eyes in the Sky, a wildlife education program featuring rescued birds of prey. For their 10:30 a.m. presentation at the Wildling’s Free Family Day, visitors will have the chance to learn more about raptors of the Central Coast. Attendees can also look forward to nature journaling and hands-on activities for all ages in the Wildling’s newly-updated George & Barbara Goodall Education Center.

Thanks to support from the Wood-Claeyssens Foundation, we are able to continue offering this entirely free day for all,” says Stacey Otte-Demangate, Wildling Museum Executive Director. “We hope local families will enjoy exploring our exhibitions and offerings, while also learning about some of our local wildlife.”
