Downtown Santa Barbara ushered in the holiday spirit on Tuesday after it put up a 45-foot Douglas fir tree on the 1300 block of State Street.

The tree was delivered from a sustainable farm that plants four trees for every one sold. This year the presenting sponsor, Consumer Fire Products, Inc., delivered the tree and the City of Santa Barbara’s Public Works department spent over an hour installing it along with Mike Dawson of the Big Red Crane Company.

The tree is going up downtown, where small businesses are in need of support now more than ever. A directory of the downtown businesses near the Christmas tree can be found at  downtownsb.org.
