On this week’s Poodle Radio, Colin Marshall talks first to Brad Nack, visual artist, fixture on the art and music scenes, and man about Santa Barbara. Thursday, December 2 brings his 13th annual 100% Reindeer Art Show, a one-day exhibition at Roy (7 West Carrillo). Each and every year, Brad has painted pieces of reindeer imagery that, with their perfect balance of simplicity and complexity, have captivated hundreds of Yule-minded art collectors. Though he’s taken his reindeer shows around the country and the world in previous years, in 2010 he’s keeping it completely local; the paintings on display will neither be shown nor sold anywhere else.

Then Bob Wesley, owner of The Winehound (1221 Chapala) gets on the line to talk Thanksgiving wines. As befitting a man who began making wine recommendations at age 12, Bob has many opinions about what’s reliable to server with Thanksgiving dinner, what’s surprising, what’s daring, and what’s absolutely a no-go. He discusses what he considers to be the best wines before dinner, the best during dinner, and the best dessert wines afterward. As usual, Poodle Radio’s music is organized by Pop Culture Editor Aly Comingore; this time, the playlist features Eliza Rickman, Ozomatli, the Black Crowes and more. You can tune into Poodle Radio live every Tuesday morning from 8-9 a.m. on KCSB, 91.9 FM in Santa Barbara or on KCSB’s webcast at KCSB.org.
