Here is the second content-packed installment of the second season Poodle Radio, the official radio show of the Independent. The program broadcasts live each Saturday afternoon from 4-5 p.m. on KJUC-AM in the UCSB residence halls, but if you’re reading this page, you’re probably more interested in the on-demand stream that comes each following Monday.

Colin Marshall and Ben Preston host this broadcast. Colin first has a conversation with Indy reporter Chris Meagher on the hit-and-run that occurred on Las Positas road on Saturday, January 16, which turns out to be a more complicated situation than it at first seemed. Then, he talks to arts editor Charles Donelan, reporting back from the Park City ski lodge where he’s gearing up to find out if this year’s Sundance Film Festival will live up to the hype about returning to its indie-cinema roots. Finally, Ben has an in-depth discussion about state water and Santa Barbara County with Carolee Krieger, president of the California Water Impact Network.

The show also features tracks from Ozomatli, Big Rock Candy Mountain, Grover Anderson, Loomis & The Lust and Black Francis, all of whom are scheduled to perform in Santa Barbara soon.
