After an eight-month hiatus, Poodle Radio has returned to the carrier current on KJUC, KCSB’s AM training station that broadcasts to the UCSB campus’ residence halls. But those who don’t live in the specific dorms that receive KJUC’s signal need not miss out, as the program will once again be made available on a weekly basis right here on the Indy’s web site.

Colin Marshall hosts this, the first broadcast of the revived show, spinning select tracks from singer/songwriter A.A. Bondy (whose Monday appearance was previewed in Aly Comingore’s Positively State Street here), “shoegaze” quartet Asobi Seksu (whose January 14 show was previewed in the column here) and “cross-pollinated gypsy” act the Fishtank Ensemble, who will play UCSB’s MultiCultural Center on Friday, January 29 (details here). Between the cuts come conversations with the Indy‘s own Elizabeth Schwyzer on SB’s wealth of dance performances this season as well as with D.J. Palladino, head of Isla Vista’s Magic Lantern film program, on the series’ past successes and its upcoming schedule of cinematic gems.
