Martha Jeanne Phillips Bootzin
Martha Jeanne Phillips Bootzin, 51, formerly of Santa Barbara, violinist, licensed CPA, and mother of two, passed away on March 10, 2008, following a valiant battle against pancreatic cancer. For nearly 5 years after being diagnosed, Martha performed with a string quartet, a jazz ensemble, and a Celtic band, established musical education programs for children, and became a certified Feldenkrais practitioner. In 1993, Martha and her husband, pianist Alexander Bootzin, moved from SB to Pacifica. Two years later, they co-founded Pacifica’s Spindrift School of Performing Arts. Martha is survived by her husband Alex and their two children, Everett Aaron (11) and Heather Angelina (8); and Martha’s two siblings.
