Francis G. “Frankie” Sinowitz
Long-time Santa Barbara resident Frankie Sinowitz died peacefully on August 8 and left a wide range of friends and acquaintances with fond memories of his endearing uniqueness and impish charm. Many Santa Barbarans who attended Susan’s School as children recall Frankie as the unofficial greeter who monitored their daily arrivals and departures from his family home on Cota Street next door, Frankie was a lifetime observer of the parade of life which passed before him wherever he happened to be. He loved to travel and never failed to receive his preferred hotel room with a view of the parking lot. His parents, Hatsuyo and Frank preceded him in death and he has been under the care of CAPS of Santa Barbara for the past 25 years. Sincere thanks to Dr. Michael Bordofsky, the current and former staff of Alpha Resource Center and Hillside House, and the many, many friends who loved this special man.
A Celebration of Frankie’s Life will be held Friday, August 31 at 11:30 am at the Alpha Resource Center, 4501 Cathedral Oaks Road.
