Paul E Bergerot was born to Paul A Bergerot and Earlene Firth in Greenville South Carolina on June 19th 1958. He was the youngest of three siblings. Paul moved to Santa Barbara at a young age and grew up as a Santa Barbara native.

Throughout his life Paul was a talented musician, fisherman and carpenter. He spent many years in the 80’s working, drumming and touring all over the world with The Beach Boys. He toured over 200 days a year while working with The Beach Boys and met Madeline Garvey on the road in Indianapolis Indiana. They were engaged 6 weeks after meeting and married 6 months later. Paul and Madeline were married for 29 years.

Over the last three decades Paul was also a large part of the Santa Barbara band scene. He contributed his drumming and vocal talents to many local bands: The Tan, Right as Rain and The Molly Ringwald Project just to name a few.

Paul was well known for his carpentry skills. He got his contractor’s license and started his own business, rightfully named, Meticulous Construction in 1996. He was very detail oriented and would work hard until his projects were perfect.

In recent years Paul was a founding employee and operations manager at Ice in Paradise in Goleta where he was loved and respected by many. Paul managed the ice including the ice painting, drove the Zamboni, sharpened skates and helped accomplish anything that needed to be done at the rink. In recent months he completed the courses required to become a Certified Ice Technician which is a professional designation recognized by the NHL.

Despite his many talents and successes in life, Paul struggled to find lasting happiness. His mental health battle was almost life long and ultimately took him from this earth on November 12th 2019. Paul is survived by his mother and father Paul A Bergerot and Earlene Firth, his stepmother Carol Bergerot, his daughter and son Ashley and Taylor Bergerot, their mother Madeline Bergerot, Paul’s sister and brother in law Michelle and Clem Vallejo, sister-in law Jean Bergerot, and niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Phil Bergerot.

We will be hosting a celebration of life memorial at Ice in Paradise in Goleta on December 15th 2019 from 1PM-4PM. If Paul ever touched your life we asked that you come celebrate his life with us. In lieu of flowers, Paul’s children ask that donations be made in Paul’s memory to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/donate
