Want to greenify your dwelling, but not sure how to go about it? Habitat for Humanity is having an “Eco-Home Tour,” which, as the title suggests, is a tour of six homes that “demonstrate how environmentally friendly construction methods and materials can be incorporated into any project.” The homes include a Montecito rebuild, a downtown Victorian, a sustainable garden in Goleta, a Mission Canyon fire-safe remodel, a Hope Ranch landscape, and the Habitat Affordable Housing Site, a four-unit owner-occupied condominium on San Pascual. You can take either a self-guided tour ($25) or a guided tour ($125), which includes bus transportation to the sites, boxed lunch, and a reception at the Victoria Garden Mews. The tours take place Saturday, October 9, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. For the meet-up location and more info, contact Joyce McCullough at 692-2226 or mail@sbhabitat.org.
